"As expected; budget safari tents (bathrooms in the open) and camping available. Meals can be ordered at the restaurant, which provides decent food. People are kind and helpful. If you’re looking for an affordable place close to the Mburo gate, look no further."
"We stayed 2 nights in February 2021, and despite the global Covid outbreak, the camp was still open and clean! The staff was very professional, friendly and available for any of our requests. We did a mountain bike tour, and it was one of the best activity we did during our entire roadtrip in Uganda! Food was great too. Amazing sighting of a leopard in Lake Mburo national Park during our night drive in the park. Highly recommended for nature lovers!"
Peaceful, serenity. Loved our safari tent with private open air flush toilet and hot shower. The meals were tasty and hot with excellent service. We enjoyed the drive up next to the park that included zebras, water buck, and impalas, as well as cattle and goats grazing. The staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful.
“The food was amazing and luckily we enjoyed the camp fire by a star filled sky. Probably best budget place in Lake Mburo (…)”
“Great place to stay with very friendly and helpful staff. The food is really good! Clear skies at night give an impressive view of the Milky Way, and there’s a great view of the sunset too. You can drop down the hill to see zebra, Uganda kob, warthogs and all sort of other wildlife.”
“Perfect place to enjoy great food, great sunsets and experience great game drives!”
“A quiet and relaxing place with an unforgetable night sky.”
“A great new place at Lake Mburo National Park. Clean and comfortable accommodations in a quiet setting adjacent to the park. The food was delicious with three-course meals. Saw wild animals (antelopes and zebras) on the camp grounds early in the morning.”
“Perfect place to relax so close to nature! We had a great time lazy camping here. The mattresses were comfortable, sheets and bathrooms and showers were clean, I slept like a log. We enjoyed the walking & biking safaris, and had a great time kicking back watching the sunset at night. The staff even made a huge bonfire while they were roasting chicken for our dinner, we had a great time sitting around and chatting with everyone. The three-course meals were hard to beat. Great location and a great price.”
“We stayed for 3 nights in a luxury safari tent and had a great time. The lodge is right next to the park gate and zebra walk in the land next to the lodge. The restaurant has a great view and is the perfect place to relax. The food is very good and lots of options. There is also a pool table and some games. The safari tent was comfortable and had a wonderful outside bathroom. We found the accommodation options very convenient as it meant other friends could pick the accommodation based on their budget and preferences. The manager was very helpful in organising anything we needed.”
“Stayed here for one night on a overland trip. Katie the manager was very friendly and happy to chat. The shared bathroom block was amazing - the best shower I had in 2 weeks of camping through Kenya and Uganda. Excellent water pressure and hot hot water. The upstairs bar and sitting area was something I’d expect from a 5 star resort, with a good selection of alcohol and reasonable prices. Wish all our camping sites had been like Leopard’s Rest.”
“Nice & quiet camp for relaxation. The price is also affordable. Facilities are not new but bery clean. And importantly, the food is so delicious! I love it. Staffs are also very kind. (Katy, Thank you for your kindness😊) The camp is located near the entrance of park. So, It is very close to the park. There is a handsome horse here Hahaha”
“Came here for one night on an overland tour but would have stayed longer! The roads leading up to the camp are somewhat difficult and "adventurous" but don't let that dissuade you from this beautiful camp. The facilities were beautiful and felt perfect in the environment. The showers in the camping area were open and lovely with actual hot (!!!) water. Lots of hammocks and sitting areas with a nice bar. No wifi but, honestly, its better for it. Overall a great place to just chill and relax”
“What to say about this camp ... it is just amazing! The staff is welcoming and friendly and make your stay better ! You can enjoy all the beauty of the park and the animals without paying the entrance fee. We did the biking which was really worth it! The accommodation was well arranged and the food was so good! The camp itself is just wonderful. If you want a peaceful place where you can enjoy the beautiful sunset in the middle of a national park that is the place to stay!”
